When you reach your 50th birthday it is a big milestone in your life. It is a special birthday and there is one invitation that women could start to receive on their special day.
The British Menopause Society has put forward an idea to GPs. Once women hit 50, GPs should be inviting them in to discuss the menopause. The invite would ask women to attend their GP to register for a “health and lifestyle consultation.” The consultation would involve discussing a personal health plan for the onset of menopause.
The Menopause
In the UK, women roughly reach menopause at around 52. When a woman doesn’t have a period for a year she is considered menopausal. After a year the woman is then considered post-menopausal. It can occur in women under the age of 45, known as premature menopause.
