30th Birthday Joke

The Fourth of July is, of course, famously observed in the United States as Independence Day - the day during which Americans commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and, thereby, officially gained independence from Great Britain. It is interesting to note just some of the famous figures in history who were born on this day.

Who are some of the notable people who share a birthday on July 4?

1790 - George Everest: Welsh surveyor and geographer. Though surveyed by his successor, Andrew Waugh, Mount Everest was named after him in his honor.

1804 - Nathaniel Hawthorne: American novelist and short story writer. Perhaps best known for the literary classic The Scarlett Letter.
